Ball began playing basketball at the age of two along with his younger brothers and he was coached by his father who was a basketball player until high school. In high school, as a junior in 2014-15, he scored on an average of 25 points, 11 rebounds, 9.1 assists, 5 blocks and 5 steals. In senior year, he recorded triple-double with average of 23.9 points, 11.3 rebounds and 11.7 assists per match. He has the impressive record during his high school which made him the five star recruit.

A five star recruit, Ball signed a national letter of intent in 2015 to attend the University of California and play for bruins. With his impressive performance, vision and passing skills, he led Bruins to victory over Texas A&M in the championship and rise up in national ranking.  This has made his name in the list of 50 players’ preseason watch list for John R. Wooden Award and MVP of the Wooden Legacy tournament. In his college career, he has broke most of the records. In the win over Washington State, he broke the record high assist with 14 assists. Moreover, he surpassed the record of most assist in the season. Ball averaged 14.6 points, 8.6 assist and 6.0 rebounds for the season made him only the player to average at least 14 points, six assists, and six rebound.

His impressive skills and record breaking performance earned him the selection by Los Angeles Lakers in the 2017 NBA draft. He will be playing for Lakers for four year under the rookie scale contract. In 2017 NBA Summer League, he became the player to record double-doubles and triple-doubles records. With this record stat, he became the Summer League’s MVP with an average of 16.3 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.0 block per match in six games out of eight matches.

Lonzo Ball was born on October 27, 1997 in Anaheim, California, US to the parents who were both college basketball player. His father, Lavar Ball, played from Washington State before playing in Cal State Los Angeles and his mother, Tina Ball played for Cal State Los Angeles.
