Dana Perino Personal Life

Dana Perino was born on May 9, 1972 in Evanston, Wyoming of the United States. Her full birth name is Dana Marie Perino. She is the daughter of Leo Perino and Janice Perino (whose parents were Italian Immigrants).

Perino passed her high school from Ponderosa High School, located in Parker, a suburb of Denver. After high school, she was graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications with minors in both the political science and Spanish from Colorado State University. She also earned a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Illinois Springfield. During her time at UIS, she also worked as a daily reporter for WCIA.

Dana Perino is married to Peter McMahon. She met Peter McMahon for the first time in 1996.   He is a businessman dealing in marketing and sales of medical products worldwide. The couple got married in 1998. Though Perino does not have any children, McMahon has kids from his previous marriage. The great age difference of 18 years exists between the couple.

Dana Perino Career

After working for WCIA during her college time, Dana Perino served as the 26th White House Press Secretary under the then president George W. Bush. She was the only second female White House Press Secretary. During President Bush’s Administration, she served for more than seven years at the Justice Department and the Council on Environmental Policy.

In late 2001 she was the spokesperson at Capitol Hill and served there for two years.  She has also worked in the field of public affairs when she was living in California with her husband for three years.

Currently she is a political commentator for Fox News and also serves as a co-host of Fox News Channel’s talk show The Five. She joined FNC in 2009 as a contributor, where her performances were widely appreciated. Perino is also a book publishing executive at Random House which she joined in 2011.
