Christiane Amanpour was born on 12th of January, 1958 in London, England. She is a daughter of Mahmud Amanpour, who is a Muslim from Iran and Patricia Hill (a Christian from England). So she is fluent in both English and Farsi. At the age of 11, she was sent to boarding school in England from Iran to continue her education. But later on, her whole family returned to England due to the Iran Iraq war.

She served as a reporter for “60 Minutes” from the late 90s into the mid-2000s, covering the Persian Gulf War, the Bosnian War, and various other conflicts around the world. She is known for her fearless reporting style, often parachuting into conflict areas, and her emotional reports.
